WEEKLY SNAPSHOT

April 1, 2026

Last Thursday was our fifth CareerFest at Fairfield High School. We love seeing the connections made between students and employers as they discover so many great companies right here at home. We had over 60 organizations represented, which was our largest event ever. A special thanks to Cincinnati State for all of the amazing equipment that they bring to share with the students. Be looking for dates for 2027 coming soon!

Continue to keep an eye out for outreach from Town Square Publications in the coming weeks. We’re proud to be collaborating with them on our 2026–2027 Business Resource Guide & Membership Directory, a publication designed to highlight our local business community and offer valuable visibility in both print and digital formats. Their team will be connecting with members about advertising opportunities—be sure to take advantage of this chance to showcase your business. If you already know you’d like to participate, feel free to contact Sara or me and we’ll make sure you’re at the top of the list!

Have a great week!

Peggy

Preventative safety programs are one of the most effective ways organizations can reduce workplace injuries, improve compliance, and build a strong safety culture. In this session, an OSHA representative will discuss how targeted enforcement initiatives work and how businesses can proactively identify and address high-risk hazards before they lead to incidents, citations, or costly downtime. Participants will gain insight into OSHA’s enforcement priorities and learn practical steps their organizations can take to strengthen safety programs and remain compliant.

Addiction Isn’t a Crime: Aligning Law Enforcement, Medicine, and Probation

Wednesday, April 29, 2026 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

This panel brings together leaders from law enforcement, medical treatment, and community supervision to explore the realities of addiction and reentry within the justice system. Through evidence-based insights and frontline experience, panelists will examine why overdose risk spikes after release, how SUD is clinically identified, and why treatment, not punishment, is essential to improving outcomes.

Discussion will focus on addressing misconceptions about medication-assisted treatment (MAT), understanding the barriers people face in the first weeks after release, and highlighting the collaborative practices that reduce recidivism, support recovery, and create safer, more effective reentry pathways.

ATTENDEES WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Explain the unique risks and challenges faced by individuals with SUD during reentry.
  • Understand how SUD is clinically identified and how appropriate treatment levels are determined.
  • Describe what evidence-based treatment looks like within the justice system.
  • Identify common misconceptions within justice settings and how they influence outcomes.
  • Understand the core components of an effective reentry plan.
  • Recognize the value of cross-agency collaboration.
